One week gone...

Syster Page has successfully completed one week of her mission. One down, about 77 to go! She seems to be having a great time, here is a bit of her email home. I don't think anyone will be surprised to find that she laughs a lot...

I am very well, thank you, and am having a great time! My least favorite part is Missionary Directed Time and my favorite part is teaching. Wow. I was about to put an exclamation point at the end of that sentence but then I realized that would be, you know, a lot of exclamation points.
My District is AWESOME. Seriously. They are all so cool. There are seven elders and four sisters. It's pretty huge compared to previous groups. The elders are all very impressive: very sincere and very focused. Our sisters are hilarious and fun too. My companion is Syster Maxwell from North Carolina. She is 23 and graduated from BYU last year in Anthropology. She is very different from me. She likes to have a lot of time to prepare and think things out. I much prefer to just go do it! I just feel like that's how I learn the most anyway. It is important to be patient and to wait on the Lord, and I am glad I get to learn that from her example of patience. So, my District found out that I have a great appreciation for and broad interpretation of humor. We laugh A LOT and have a great time. I mean, its appropriate laughter. Its a great stress-relief and we should be able to remember that this is a joyful work. We should smile! Basically, what I am trying to say is that we have a great time.
It has been a hard experience. A lot of ups and downs and all that stuff. I love the Gospel though. I LOVE to testify of the Restoration of the Gospel. I cannot wait until I can testify to people who have not already been baptized. Everyone needs to hear the message, saints and sinners, so it is still good. I am grateful for the many opportunities I have to testify at all. It strengthens me.
So, Swedish is really cool. You guys are going to love it. I can pray, testify, and contact in Swedish. The food ar inte bra. Let's just say I won't be gaining any weight here at the MTC. I got sick Saturday night and my teacher thought I was pretty cool running out of the room with my companion. Sweet. I was able to keep working though, because the next day was Sunday. Anyway, I am healthy though. I do eat. The gym is a weird place. It's really crowded and no one wears tags (they don't let us). I am getting used to it though. I love wearing my tag. It's pretty much for selfish reasons I think though. I just feel really cool wearing it. We are all SO cool. I am trying to enjoy that feeling here, because no one really outside of the MTC will think you are really cool when you wear Church clothes and the black tag. I will still be excited to do it though, I think.

There she goes...

Sarah became Syster Page on 19 January, set apart by Elder Neuenschwander who served in the Europe East Area Presidency in Moscow during our first year living there. He set Libbi apart when she left on her mission and we were excited to have him back to set apart Sarah.

The next morning Dad, Momma, Libbi, and Emily accompanied her to Provo
and on to the MTC. It was a very sad morning, but as usual Sarah chose to "lighten
things up" by acting like nothing was happening. We dropped her off and said some
brief and sad goodbyes. We are so proud of her and grateful that she is so brave
and faithful, she will be an amazing missionary and she will truly find joy in doing
the Lord's work, because she knows that it's the Lord's work she is doing.

A New Introduction

Hello, friends and family of Syster Sarah Page. Unfortunately, when creating our first blog for Sarah's mission she chose a bunch of different Swedish terms for her password and sign in address, which I cannot remember at all and I'm sure she won't remember. So I took the liberty of creating a new blog for her mission. So, to start, I will post the introduction that she wrote herself on our first blog.

I am excited to introduce the mission blog Emily created for me! I intend to send a few pictures and updates via e-mail and then they will be posted to the blog for family and friends to view.

I look forward to start living the life of a missionary and dedicating all my time to inviting others to come unto Christ. I am very grateful that my life has worked out so as to allow me to go on a mission. I am especially grateful at this time-- and I think I will only become more grateful over time-- for the support of my loving family. So, I would imagine it's impossible for me not to miss you a little more than you miss me, but I'll try to provide you with some cool updates on all my adventures in Sweden to keep you interested.
